A Life No One Will Remember. A Story You Will Never Forget.
France, 1714: in a moment of desperation, a young woman makes a Faustian bargain to live forever and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets.
Thus begins the extraordinary life of Addie LaRue, and a dazzling adventure that will play out across centuries and continents, across history and art, as a young woman learns how far she will go to leave her mark on the world.
But everything changes when, after nearly 300 years, Addie stumbles across a young man in a hidden bookstore and he remembers her name.
REVIEW: So this book was really slow to me. I went back and forth between liking it and not liking it. I wasn't crazy about Addie's character, she's not that likable to me. There's only so much that can be done with an immortal character who is not memorable to anyone she meets. There were times the non-linear timeline really threw me. However I will say that I listened to this on audio and may have been able to follow it a little better and get into it more in print form. I feel like I still have so many unanswered questions about Henry and Luc. The writing as always was exquisite. The descriptions of the all the different times in history as well as the mysteriousness surrounding Luc and his very being were all breathtaking. I also really enjoyed all of the continued art and literature references through out this book. I will say that I initially rated this book a 3 but had to add another star on the account that even though I finished it over two weeks ago, I can't stop thinking about it. A solid 4 out of 5 from me and definitely becoming one of my favorite authors.
