The Princess Bride by William Goldman

Beautiful, flaxen-haired Buttercup has fallen for Westley, the farm boy, and when he departs to make his fortune, she vows never to love another. So when she hears that his ship has been captured by the Dread Pirate Roberts - who never leaves survivors - her heart is broken. But her charms draw the attention of the relentless Prince Humperdinck who wants a wife and will go to any lengths to have Buttercup. So starts a fairytale like no other, of fencing, fighting, torture, poison, true love, hate, revenge, giants, hunters, bad men, good men, beautifulest ladies, snakes, spiders, beasts, chases, escapes, lies, truths, passion and miracles.

REVIEW: Let's have a chat y'all. My favorite movie of ALL TIME is The Princess Bride and has been for as long as I can remember. I've been in love with Westley and Carey Elwes since I could be in love with anyone......and now......The Princess Bride is officially my ALL TIME favorite book. It is funny and sarcastic and quick paced just as I hoped. It's an abridgment of a book which doesn't exist (which I looked up because I thought it was real....lol). There are so many back stories which I never knew I needed. There are some incredible adventures from our favorite due Inigo and Fezzik. We learn that maybe Buttercup isn't as likable as we all assumed. This is definitely a book I will re-read annually from here on out and one I will share with my children. Another 5 star read for this month....not too shabby!
