Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price—and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can’t pull it off alone. . . .

A convict with a thirst for revenge

A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager

A runaway with a privileged past

A spy known as the Wraith

A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums

A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes

Kaz’s crew is the only thing that might stand between the world and destruction—if they don’t kill each other first.

REVIEW: This book took me a really long time to get into. The first 200 pages really dragged for me. There were some really great moments that I did enjoy and kept me reading and boy am I glad that I did! The second half of this book was incredible!! Every piece of this plan that fell into place one step at a time was remarkable. The action and magic and emotional awakenings were everything. Kaz is a an incredible leader even though he does fall in that morally grey area that we all love. Inej is such a complex character that I could read an entire book about. Jesper is everything! By far one of my favorite of the crew and full of surprises. Matthias is just a decent guy as Kaz would say and his journey is this book is a tear-jerker. Nina. What can’t be said about Nina. She’s loud and lewd and deadly, definitely my spirit animal! There are so many other great characters in this book. Overall I give this book a 4 out of 5 because it was hard for me to get into but I can’t wait to get started on Crooked Kingdom as soon as I finish this review!!!
